Lucky Ophelia: I'm a 22 year old female from Texas and I hope to use this blog as a way for me to keep track of things that are going on and happening in my life. I suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as multiple personality disorder). I have many blanks in my memory and that can be extremely debilitating at times along with causing confusion and chaos in many of my relationships and day to day tasks. Sometimes when I black out or "lose time" I "switch" into an alter and do/say things I normally wouldn't. You would never know I'm a multiple if you saw me on the street. I may very well be a friend or coworker of yours. I've struggled with drug addiction, eating disorders, self harming behaviours and endured repeated traumas. In order to survive the abuse I was going through, my brain split off into different parts that carry certain distinct memories and these parts or "alters" have their own pattern of behaving perceiving and interacting with the world.
